GoFundMe: Datu Igwas Elementary School, North Cotabato
on July 1, 2024, after our successful visit with Sumayahon Elementary School in Kidapawan, North Cotabato, volunteers led by Ms. Ivy Yecyec introduced us to principal, Johnny Serrano of Datu Igwas Elementary School who is seeking JollyBox Global Assistance in facilitating the funding process for Datu Igwas Elementary School classroom and armchair needed before the 2024-2025 school year begins.
Despite submitting funding requests for the past five years, the school has been forced to conduct classes in makeshift facilities with tarpaulin walls, tables, and benches constructed by the school staff and local community.
Our outreach efforts on July 1, 2024, revealed that Datu Icdang of Kidapawan City was uninformed about the school's situation, while the Department of Education in Kidapawan City cited insufficient budget as the primary obstacle. On July 5, 2024, we contacted the NCIP Region XII, which acknowledged our email but failed to take further action. As of August 16, 2024, we have delivered 50 chairs to Datu Igwas ES but still require 66 additional chairs.
